The "Osservatorio Logistico" is a branch of the Department of Engineering Sciences and Methods of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, located in Reggio Emilia. The Research Centre, founded in year 2001, is capable of providing many interdisciplinary competences like industrial logistics, information technology,  economics, management science  and operations research. Since its birth the Center has been known to developed relationships with Public Administration and private companies, trying to enhance the exchange of acquaintances and experiences between the academic world and the local businesses. At the moment the Center is involved into  research projects regarding logistics and transportation both nationally and internationally. The fields of interest of the center include, among others:

• Industrial logistic

• Reverse logistics;

• Packaging

• Systems of distribution and transport

• Mobility

• City logistics

The mission of the Centre is carried out through::

• education ü: in order to diffuse the culture of modern logistics

• üapplied research: to favor the innovation and to transfer new managerial technologies and methodologies.
